“…reaching the lost and feeding the multitudes.”

Cody James Ministries takes the gospel message of Christ into the world with the
combination of original music and the personal testimony of Cody James and others.
Traveling throughout the United States, the ministry reaches people in a variety of
venues; from churches, jails, prisons, recovery centers and meetings, radio and more.
We have heard it asked, “If being a Christian were a crime, would there be enough
evidence to convict you?” If it was a crime to reach the lost and hurting for Christ
using the songs the Holy spirit has given, then yes, there would be enough evidence to
convict this ministry; and for that we say, “All glory to God” In the spirit of Isaiah 61:1
“The Lord God has put His Spirit in me, because the Lord has appointed me to tell
the good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort those whose hearts are
broken, to tell the captives they are free, and to tell the prisoners they are released“,
the mission of this ministry is to share the life-changing message of Christ

Mission Statement

Cody James Ministries travels the country sharing the word of God through personal testimony and music. CJM’s Mission focus has always been Jails, but often other opportunities arise that take the Ministry into prisons, recovery groups, churches, concert venues, radio and town meetings, and to our military and their families. Though Cody had been traveling full time with the ministry since his ordination in 2007, and often to the state of Minnesota and its Co jails; in the summer of 2010, God moved on Cody’s heart to focus on every county jail in the state of Minnesota. In order to keep family his first ministry, he had to uproot & move them the 700 miles from their southern home to the mission field. Shortly after the move took place, God performed a miracle by creating an opportunity in the form of an invitation by the MN Sheriffs association for Cody James Ministries to officially address every County Sherriff, administrator, and Jail program Coordinator in the state at 3 different out of town conferences. This is what God used to allow Cody to build the relationships that would gain the ministry access to every Jail, 82 in all. Cody, his wife Jamie, daughter Raegyn , and son Jeremiah  now reside in Cambridge, Minnesota.

Cody, his family, & team work very hard at financing this missionary venture in real-time, while in the mission field by speaking at Sunday morning Church services when invited, and performing musical concerts along the way for love offerings. Currently 4 churches support this mission on a monthly basis, 3 in Minnesota, 1 in Iowa totaling $650.00 per month. Other monthly support comes from ex-inmates CJM has encountered along the way, board members & private citizens who believe in the mission.
“There are many ministries out there doing a great job’, Cody said, ‘but how much more effective would we all be if we could connect up together, share resources, and mend the net so no one recently released from Jail falls thru without discipleship. There is an army of Christian warriors out there, we just need to unite; leading these lost & hurting incarcerated people to Jesus, & then be there waiting at the gate when they are released’.
Cody James Ministries has and will remain traveling fulltime to every Jail in the state of Minnesota, as well as other states in the Midwest: Iowa, Ill & Missouri, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ & inviting all who will hear to repent, accept Jesus as savior, and reconcile with God. “We do what we can do, and trust God for the rest”.

(A recent email to CJM from the Program Coordinator of Douglas County Jail)
“We had a church service the day after you were here in our Jail. There were twice as many in attendance than there has ever been. They were out in the hallway. Many must have been moved by your visit. Thought you’d like to know.
Thank you again,
Deputy Camey Ward,
Douglas County Program Staff
Why does he do this? “I know true freedom because someone went out of their way to share the love of Jesus with me when I was at my lowest point,” Cody said. “It’s not only the least I can do; it’s my duty, honor, and one of the greatest joys of my life.

He, who’s been forgiven much, loves much —Luke 7:44-47

Unique Ministry Benefits

Sharing the life-changing message of Jesus Christ is done in many different and effective ways. Our approach is to share this message through the combination of original music and relevant message. The uniqueness of the ministry lies in where that message is shared. Cody James shares from his own experience, what the grace of God can do in all situations. The ministry reaches beyond the local church, by traveling across the Midwest, inserting itself into jails, prisons and recovery settings. It also takes the life-changing message to concert venues, festivals, and through the airwaves in local radio markets whenever possible.

In John 14:12-14 Jesus speaks of us doing greater things than even Him. Due to modern technologies, we can reach millions of people with the click of a mouse, a television remote, or the turning of a radio dial. The new album project will be the perfect vehicle to hit some of those places. Giving this message beyond the range of the ministries footprint, and hitting the internet and media airwaves is a powerful way to reach the lost and feed the multitudes.

The Ministry

Here at Cody James Ministries we consider ourselves a Blue Flame Ministry, the Blue Flame being the Purest. The Ministry is about taking the songs and testimony God has placed in my life and having the opportunity to share them with the world. It doesn’t matter where I go; whether it is, Churches, Concert’s, Jails/Prisons, Recovery events, radio or TV shows, the message is always strong having one thing leading it: ‘Jesus Loves us and came to free us’; and when this message becomes real in our hearts and lives, we then have an obligation to pass it on. Not all are called to be Missionary’s or Evangelists like myself, but we are called to be that Light and disciples of Jesus to the world, when and wherever we may go. What this Ministry does depends on the needs that are brought to us. My team and I spend the majority of our time on the road.

My wife Jamie and I are often called to Minister in churches. With our once weak and struggling lives and worldly relationship, we had nowhere to go but down and it was a fast descend. Our testimonies help us to connect with people with the same temptations and struggles we once faced, drugs, alcohol, anger, to name a few; but as God was eventually invited into our lives and became the centerpiece, we now have a strong partnership. Having God become the leader of our lives and talents has shown us that no matter what obstacle we are faced with that we can, and will stand together as one. My wife and I are blessed with three beautiful children and a strong marriage. Many times its Jamie that is the one to help me stay grounded and covered with prayer.

Many times, we perform full band concerts. I am blessed to have a team of dedicated and extremely talented Christian musicians that Minister with me on these occasions. These people fully understand that though they are gifted, that God is more interested in obedience than talent. Knowing where our talents come from help us use them to their fullest. So, if rocking out with God sounds interesting, wait until you hear us play.

I urge you to take a look around the website and take in all it has to offer. Read bio’s, listen to music, watch video’s, get Bible study tips, read the latest blogs, leave your comments and prayer requests as it says in the Bible that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. (Matt. 18:19) Get to know us and help us to know you, so we can serve you better and by doing so, Serve our Lord Jesus Christ.
In Gods service and yours,
Cody and Team

Thank you so much for headlining the Dodge Center praise fest. I’ve seen you once before at Kasson Celwbrate Recovery, and was very impacted by how ‘real’ you are. I busted my butt at work so I could get there by 3 today, and was thrilled to see you still there! You and your ministry made my summer!
